Description: This pair of Centralian Pythons consists of a 14 year old female and a 13 year old male which were captive bred in Alice Springs. They have been bred regularly by us (usually 2 years on and 1 year off for the female and every year for the male) since they were 3.5 years old. This pair produces a proportion of Hypo Bredli hatchlings for us each year (about 25% of their clutch) and over the years they have produced some of the stunning animals that SXR are well known for. They are both well behaved snakes, but should not be taken lightly at feeding time (especially the female). The female is a large snake and I would guess about 2.4 metres (8 feet) or so. The male is quite a bit smaller - maybe 2.0 metres and about 2/3 the weight of the female. We do not handle our breeding snakes much, so they have not been treated as pets and would become stressed if they were played with a lot. Ideally they would be suited to someone who would appreciate them and like to breed them a few more times before retirement. When you are developing as many forms of python as we are, space and collection size becomes an issue and difficult decisions to part with old friends have to be made. Sale price is secondary to us, we would like to see them go to a good home with an owner that has the husbandry skills to keep them happy and healthy.
